Headed to USA Try Outs

The Bandits pulled off 2 more Win's against the Force. It was great to open up the season at home at Judson University. Its so much fun to play in front of our home crowd. We have many amazing, dedicated fans whom we are so grateful for. I was able to feel the "click" a little bit on Saturday night closing out the game. Our bats were booming on Sunday finishing with a big win!

I went to Boston for a signing Sunday for a quick in and out trip. Was able to meet some great people on the east coast. Die hard Red Sox fans that's for sure.

Now, I am headed down to the Olympic Training Center for the USA Softball tryouts. There are 41 girls going down there for four days filled with scrimmages and great softball. It will be great to be back in the USA environment. Its been a long off season! My mom pointed out to me a couple of weeks ago that I will be the oldest invite. Crazy... I was in the clear by like 5 years, just a couple of months ago and now at 28 I am the oldest. Try outs are always a bit nerve racking no matter what your status or history with USA is. Its good nerves though, those butterflies that you have a love/hate relationship with. I look forward to getting back on the field with the red, white, and blue.

Believing,

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours"
(I Corinthians 9:24, AMP)

Many of the challenges that come our way in life are simply distractions to try to lure us from our destiny. Every day we have the opportunity to get upset maybe someone is talking about you, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or a friend says something that they shouldn't have. When this happens, you have to ask yourself, If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to defend myself or trying to prove that I'm right, if I win this battle, what is the prize going to be? For example, if someone cuts you off in traffic and you get all upset and cut him off in return, how is that going to benefit you? You don't even know the person! What's the point? There are no spoils. That's not a battle that is worth your energy.

The reason many people are missing out on God's best is they're distracted fighting battles that don't really matter, trying to prove themselves to others, trying to win over their critics, playing up to someone, trying to get their approval. Instead, choose to keep your focus and attention on becoming more like Jesus so you can fulfill the destiny He has prepared for you!

Keep staying strong and believing and dreaming. Everything goes through rough times and God is the one that keeps us humble and to grow and be more like Him each of those days that we have borrowed. I know your faith is strong and your heart can be heavy at times in order to strive and be your best. But who is not to say that your best and is but that GOD'S BEST is better. He will help you get through all those tears, frustrations, and help to make everything right again. Just keep hanging in there. You have so much support and people that will stand beside you along the way.

Jennie,

We are just as blessed to know you and for you to be in our lives as well. Your faith and trust in the Lord is few and far between. In todays world not too many people believe like you and I do. You are an amazing person whether on or off the field. No matter how many great things you have accomplished they will not matter in the end. But the way you live your life each and every day is a true testament to who you are on the inside and what your heart desires and for us to see that you are ON FIRE for God. No matter what you've been facing, no matter how impossible things look, know this; the God of the breakthrough wants to visit your house. Your part is to be ready to look for His favor and goodness. Remember, God rewards the people who seek after Him. So keep expecting and keep believing because the God of the breakthrough is ready to overwhelm you with His goodness today.

Thanks for being YOU!!
